There is no doubt that with Covid-19 ruling the earth, this class of kids have been most affected. They are missing out on so many memories. It’s heartbreaking. I’ve had the best time photographing this kids and just wanted to give them a shout out as the awesome, brave, take on the world group that they are. Cheers to the Class of 2020!
I have to say. The majority of these photos were taken long before we knew what life had in store. I’m grateful for that. They got to have their senior photo experience without any trepidation or discussion of a pandemic. At least this part of their senior year was care free. Who knew that ‘normal’ could be such a blessing?
I have to say, the high schools are doing their best to give the class of 2020 the best they can under the weirdest circumstances. Scoreboards have been lit up with a 2020 score. Drive through graduations are happening all over. There is a silver lining to a drive through graduation: proximity. Parents are usually close to their kids when they actually get their diploma.
I was blessed to photograph a good chunk of kids from this class and each one was fun to do. This last image, though, is my own son. This once in a lifetime event is very personal in our house. I can’t fix it for him. I can only love him through it.
Praying that my son and all the other graduates, can make new, unique memories that honor their senior year in a very special way.
